well kept secret

While donating blood last week, I met a young man who revealed to me one of San Francisco's best kept secrets,  Pier 24. Pier 24 is  home to the permanent Pilara collection which houses over 2,000 photographs of the 20th and 21st century. At 28,000 square feet, it is one of the largest spaces dedicated to contemporary photography in the country. Open by appointment only and free of charge, Pier 24 aims to be a space that invites a unique and intimate viewing environment open for critical thought and engagement.
